About me: I have canoed and camped in the BWCA, Quetico and Superior regions since 1973, logging aver 100 wilderness canoe trips. I have authored articles on canoeing, coaching track and cross country, and outdoor education. Recently I published a collection of canoe country poetry, “Cabin by the Pond”; “Mystic Signs: Pictographs of the Canadian Shield”, a guide book on rock art; and “In The Shortness of a Breath... A Haiku Journey”. My photography has been published in Boundary Waters Journal, Fine Scale Modeler, The Scabbard, Athletic Journal and Scholastic Coach. In 2006, I had an exhibit of my wilderness and urban photography at the prestigious arts club in Chicago, The Cliff Dwellers. In 1999, a dozen of my pictograph images were selected for a part of the slide show for the Speaker’s dais at the World Council of Religions convention in South Africa. Over the years I given numerous presentations on a variety of topics. In the summer of 2009 I was invited to give presentations as part of Quetico Provincial Parks 100th Anniversary at French Lake and Atikokan, Ontario,Canada. I have even found time to do outdoor photography and paint military miniatures.
